ABOUT GRAYLING
MY STORY
Hailing from a wee house in Bonhill, Scotland where the sounds of Queen, Carole King and Billy Joel reverberated through the walls…
Grayling grew up in a musical family however - shied away from performing and stepping into her own light until later in life. Busking on the banks of Loch Lomond saw the start of her full time music career.
Her time is now spent writing in her flat in Glasgow, leading songwriting workshops and gigging with friends and bandmates around Scotland.
‘Greenhouse’ Grayling’s first offering released in August 2022 - had a focus on getting well, growing through painful experiences and learning to care for oneself.
‘River Song’ the first single from the debut EP saw her reach new heights as it gained ‘Track of the Week’ on the Afternoon Show - BBC Radio Scotland as well as being featured on BBC Introducing Scotland.
Since then she has played sold out shows with her band in The Old Hairdressers Glasgow as well as support slots at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, The Poetry Club and The Glad Cafe supporting the likes of Charlie Hickey, The Joy Hotel and Stu Larsen.
Recently deemed one of Vic Galloway’s (BBC Scotland) ‘Ones to Watch for 2023’ - Grayling is in the midst of writing EP No.2; finding inspiration in nature, poetry and of course… heartache.
Finding peace and clarity in the catharsis of writing, Grayling hopes her music will help others find the same solace.
